Meet the Horses

"Mikey"

Mikey is a sorrel Quarter Horse gelding. “Hey Mikey, he likes it” fits him perfectly! He is a retired show horse that is extremely happy to be used in therapy. His former job required a lot of serious work hours and now his hours are filled with pampering and having fun with his clients during therapy sessions. Mikey allows his clients the opportunity to de-stress and have some fun!

"Lacy"

Lacy is a chestnut Quarter Horse mare. She was a lesson horse until she retired due to having a heart attack. She took her job as a lesson horse very serious and always took care of her students. She continues to bring her serious, no-nonsense attitude to the therapy program. She is highly effective in helping her clients behave and think more realistic.

"Sparky"

Sparky is a sorrel Quarter Horse gelding. He is quite elderly and is a “happy-go-lucky” guy that wants desperately to please his clients. Sparky is low on the horse pecking order and attaches to his clients very quickly. He is great at teaching his clients to rely on positive, supportive behavior.

"Sky"

Sky is a sorrel Quarter Horse mare.
She still exhibits strong will and determination from her previous years as a racing Quarter Horse. She demands teamwork from her clients!

"Lady"

Lady is a gray Quarter Horse mare.
She is extremely patient and kind. Due to the fact that she is so patient, she allows her clients plenty of opportunity to think outside the box. She has the unique ability to help her clients over-come fears and build trust. She also is a good listener and has heard many stories from her clients!

"Lexie"

Lexie is a brown-bay Quarter Horse mare. She is a retired broodmare,
raising a champion filly. After her years
of raising foals, she became one of our lesson horses until an eye injury left her blind in one eye. Now, she spends her days helping her clients gain insight into their emotions and the cause and effect of their actions. Lexie is a very intuitive horse and commands respect from her clients.

"Candy"

Candy is a brown Quarter Horse mare. She is a former lesson horse and developed arthritis in her knees. She is older and can be quite moody at times, which is highly effective in helping clients deal with change and adaptability.

"Cletus"

Cletus is a sorrel and white Paint gelding. He is highly sensitive and has a high need to please his clients. He loves working with his clients and is effective in teaching good communication and sensitivity to others.

"Lucy"

Lucy is a bay Arabian mare. She is quite inquisitive and sensitive to her surroundings. She has the unique ability to mimic client’s emotions which allows them to gain greater insight into their feelings.
